sooo..things have been going by so fast lately. i feel like i've neglected this blog..and it bugs me because it's kind of like an outlet for me. even though this thing consists mostly of pictures and videos/songs, i still feel it's what best describes me. i have never been one for words..i feel like a picture depicts what i am trying to say more than some words will.

anyway, this post is entitled "different" for a reason. in a matter of a couple of weeks, my life will drastically change (for the good!). i am getting married!! it's exciting but a little unnerving at the same time. i'm stuck between two different feelings. i am so ready to hit this milestone with the man that i love..but in the back of my head is the fear that something might go wrong. perhaps it's wrong of me to think this but i just want everything to be almost perfect, although i am aware that it's virtually impossible. but with this amazing guy by my side, i know everything will be A-OK!! :)

it's funny how people long for you even though you always seem to leave with a quickness. i didn't get to do nearly as much as i had planned with you..but that's usually how it ends up between us. i know you won't be far once you leave because your sauna-like humidity willl stay around until the cool weather of fall actually gets here. if you could please clear your heat out as soon as possible it would be greatly appreciated. i am quite ready for fall (i think you call her autumn) to be here as she is my favorite out of all of you.

busy..busy..busy

this weekend was sooo crazy! well, not really CRAZY as in things went wrong or something unexpected happened. i mean CRAZY as in there were so many things going on..and i've basically been going non-stop all weekend. i didn't even get my usual amount of sleep this weekend. but i must admit, it was a GREAT weekend!! old friends, new friends, music, dancing, baseball, food...all in all, great fun! as of now, hopefully i have recuperated enough to carry on with this week's normal activites.

here's a couple of pics to sum up the weekend.

it was my little sister's birthday earlier this week...so all this celebration was for her 23rd.

eeeeeeek!!! i love this song! and not for the obvious reasons for which others might; i love the musicality. i have been a HUGE fan of Cee-lo's for some time now. waaay before he even had the idea to form Gnarls Barkley. back when he came out with Goodie Mob. i'll admit i never was just a FANATIC of the group..but everytime i heard one of their songs, his parts/verses always stood out. there's just something melodic about his voice whether he's singing OR rapping. and now..he has a SOLO album dropping December 7th titled The Lady Killer. i don't usually get caught up in the hype and countdown to when an artist's album comes out. but i will say i will DEFINITELY make it a point to remind myself by notes on the calendar, blackberry, and any other way that will help to remind me, to get this one. i must experience for myself what this magnificent artist has to offer.

p.s. the video ain't too bad either!

Hong Kong based TSL jewelers created this diamond studded Snoopy sculpture to celebrate the 60th birthday of the famous comic character. The piece contains 9917 white diamonds, 783 rubies and 415 black diamonds equalling 207 carats total..and measuring in at 14cm tall.

The price tag? Only a cool $427,000.

reese = peggy lee?

so..sites are reporting that Reese Witherspoon is in the beginning stages of creating another musician biopic. after winning an Oscar in 2005 for portraying June Carter in "Walk the Line," Reese is making things happen to create an (as-of-now) untitled film. while there are still negotiations being made for her to star in it, she is producing the Fox 2000 project with Marc Platt. Reese brought the project to the studio after securing the rights to Peggy's life from the Lee estate. Platt produced "Legally Blonde"; and writer-director Nora Ephron (who is a major fan of Lee's music) is also on board with the project. Ephron last wrote and directed "Julie & Julia."

if you haven't heard about Peggy Lee before, you should really do a little research on her and her music. i love Peggy Lee. she got her start in the 40s singing with Benny Goodman's band. she earned an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress for her role in the 1955 musical "Pete Kelly's Blues" and did some songwriting and voice-over work for Disney's "Lady and the Tramp." some of her songs/work include Why Don't You Do Right (my personal fave), Mañana, Fever, and Big Spender.

I didn't see "Walk the Line" but I'm pretty sure I will definitely be checking THIS movie out.

so, the bf and i were talking the other day about shows we watched as kids. i LOVED the shows that came on back then. i wish they had more shows like that instead of all this nonsense that substitues for children's cartoons nowadays.

i got these jeans last week [from old navy]...and let me tell u, there are few things that bring me such joy as finding a pair of jeans that are actually LONG ENOUGH. i feel like i don't have nearly enough jeans in my closet because i simply can not find any that aren't flood pants on me...or won't become flood pants after a few rounds in the washer and dryer. i LOVE the option of "long" jeans. there are some brands out there that might label their longer pants as "long", but in actuality they're not really "long" at all..more like regular. i think they do this to make the short girls feel like they're actually taller than they are..no offense to the "vertically challenged" people out there. i always have a difficult time because of my size. i'm not exactly skinny, but i am slender..or thin..or slim, whichever u prefer. and no, i'm not a size 0 or 1 as some crazy people ask; i have some hips.

this post is me giving my thanks to the lines that actually carry long jeans. THANK YOU for considering the girls with longer than a 31" inseam.

in the September issue of HARPER'S BAZAAR, Jennifer Aniston pays homage to Barbra Streisand and transforms into her "funny girl" character -- using wigs, great make-up, and some reeeallly long nails. the results are great! i've actually seen "funny girl" and the stylists and make-up artists really hit the nail on the head. i wonder what jen's impression of barbra would sound like..hmm.
